UNIT: 1

HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (S.A.W.W. AN EMBODIMENT OF JUSTICE

Answer the following questions.

Q 1.How can people achieve perfection in the moral, spiritual and social areas of life?

Ans: People can achieve perfection in moral, spiritual and social areas of life if they seek light from the message and guidance from Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)’s life because his life is a perfect model and example for the people who want to attain goodness, piety and success in their individual as well as social life. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) practically proved that no one could be more just and equitable than the messenger of Allah Almighty.


Q 2.How did the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) set high and noble ideals for all mankind?

Ans:The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) set high and noble ideals for all mankind through his practical example to follow in every field of life. People can seek light and guidance from his life. We see that as a young trader, he earned a good reputation of being an honest, fair and just business man. He always had fair and just dealings with all people.  


Q 3. How were the people of Makkah convinced of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W)’s  justice even before his Prophet-hood?

Ans: It is true that the people of Makkah were convinced of the messenger (S.A.W.W)’s  justice  even before his prophet -hood. There is a great example we read in the lesson. When the Ka'bah was being constructed, there arose a dispute among the people regarding  setting the  Black Stone . He (S.A.W.W) advised the most equitable plan for setting of the Black Stone. This pleased everyone and saved them from a tribal conflict.


Q 4. What standards of justice did the Holy Prophet  (S.A.W.W) practice  as a head of the state of Madinah?

Ans: As the head of state of Madinah the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) practiced  the high standards of justice. He decided all cases on merit with justice and equity, irrespective of colour, creed or race. Once a Quraish woman was found guilty of stealing. Some people asked Hazrat Usama binZaid (R.A) to intercede on her behalf in order to protect the honour of Quraish. When Hazrat Usama (R.A) requested the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) to forgive her, he (S.A.W.W) furiously said ,“Bani Israel was ruined because of  this. They applied laws to the poor and forgave the rich”.


Q 5.What made non –Muslims bring their suits to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W)?

Ans: The non Muslims brought their suits to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) even though they were his (S.A.W.W) bitter enemies. Because the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W)  was well known for his justice. He (S.A.W.W) decided all the cases in accordance with their law. He (S.A.W.W) very strictly followed the commandments of Allah.


Q 6. How does the Quran describe the personality of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W)?

Ans: The Holy Quran describes the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W)’s personality in the following words; “Indeed in the Messenger of Allah Almighty (Muhammad S.A.W) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the meeting with) Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much.”


UNIT: 02

First AID

Q1: You should not keep checking if the bleeding has stopped.why ?

Ans: We should Not Keep checking if the Bleeding has Stopped because this may damage or dislodge the cloth that is forming and cause bleeding to resume.


Q2: Why is it necessary to keep away soap from the wound ?

Ans: It is necessary to Keep away soap from the wound because the soap can irritate the wound .so we should rinse our the wound with clean water .if dirt or debris remains in the wound after washing , use tweezers carefully , cleaned with alcohol to remove the particles .


Q3: How is an antibiotic cream or ointment good in healing the wound ?

Ans: An antibiotic cream or ointment is usefully in a way to help keep the surface moist .these products do not make the wound heal faster but they can help our body’s nature healing process work fast .On the other hand certain ingredients in some ointments can cause a mild rash in some people .in this case stop using ointments.


Q4: what should you do if you are allergic to adhesive material used in most bandages?

Ans: if I am allergic to adhesive materials use in most bandages, I will prefer to switch to adhesive free dressing or sterile gauze to hold on the place with paper tape , gauze roll or a loosely applied elastic bandages , All the materials, supplies are generally available at  pharmacies 


Q5: When do you need to see a doctor  ?

Ans: we need to see a doctor:

1)   If the blood spurts are continues flowing after continues pressure.

2)   After cleaning the wound debris still remain in the wound 

3)   The wound is not healing or we notice any redness, increase pain ,

drainage ,warmth or swelling etc


Q6: What Should Your First Aid Kit Consists Of ?

Ans: My first aid kit should consists of:   first aid book , Band-aids , Elastic bandages , gauze and adhesive tape antiseptic wipes (Alcohol swabs) and cotton wool , Safety pins and tweezers , scissors , latex gloves, calamine lotion , clinical thermometer , analgesic  tablets etc

POEM: TRY AGAIN

Theme:

This little poem gives us a big lesson . The theme of this poem is that the little steady Steps Secure a Superb Success but the key of this success is try again. There is no shame or disgrace in failure because  by this we know about our weaknesses and it becomes easy to overcome those weaknesses . Then if we try again, we embarrassed the success. We should not give up hope and struggle and learn from our failure but try again is the only gate way of success.


UNIT: 04

POEM: THE RAIN

Theme:

This beautiful poem “The Rain “ has been written by W.H Davies. This poem is actually about the hardships of the poor . This poem has also symbolic meaning. He (the poet) hears the leaves drinking the rain water these leaves are on top of the trees . After quenching thirst, they pass on the left rain drops to the lower leaves. He symbolizes the division of rain drops with rich and poor people. It means that rich people get more benefits from the society than the poor . Then the sun comes out after rain and brightens up the each rain drop . By this, the poet wants to tell us that there should be equality in the society like the sun which spreads its shine all over the world equally .in short this poem has a beautiful message for rich people


UNIT: 05

SELECTING THE RIGHT CAREER


Q1: What were some famous careers for the young people in the past ?

Ans: In the past the famous careers for the young people were becoming a doctor , a pilot or an engineer . These few disciplines were to be considered the only fields that could offer rewarding careers In terms of both respect and money. In fact the students were unaware of other opportunities that could perhaps have been more advantageous 


Q2: Nowadays non-Traditional Careers Are More Appealing To Young minds ?Why ?

Ans: Nowadays non-traditional careers are more appealing young minds as life has become more dynamic and innovative . Now a whole world of non-traditional careers from IT , Electronic Media and Web Networking for online Business portal and Fashion Designing are available for the young people. Because these fields are also interesting and highly rewarding in terms of both, respect and money.


Q3: What is meant by the “right profession”?

Ans: For right profession some people may say that money is everything . On the other hand , some people can be of opinion that respect and mental satisfaction is sufficient . But as a matter of fact, right profession means not only money but considerations like interest in job , respect and mental satisfaction should be also be given importance.


Q4: Why is it important to consider the scope of any field ?

Ans: Yes , it is important to consider the scope of any field . We cannot practically deny the significance of hiring trends; For example a decade ago when computer science professionals were in demand , masses of MCS (Master of Computer Sciences) students flooded the market with extremely disappointing results . It is also important to consider the scope of any field in terms of market demand as well.


Q5: Is there any need of proper  career counseling department ? why ?

Ans: Yes there is a dire need of proper career counseling department as they can play a key role in guiding the right profession . Career counselors are generally well informed about the  hiring trend and market demand. This highlights the importance of a full time career counseling department at the school level . So it is widely felt that career counseling must be promoted from school level .


UNIT: 6

A WORLD WITHOUT BOOKS


Q1. How does a book connect the reader and the writer ?

Ans: A book connects the reader and the writer in a way that when a reader starts reading the book he or she gets involved in the story . Many times he assumes himself one of the characters of the story and many times he thinks that he is living the life of that character . As the writer says that book reading connects us with humanity  and it is also the last truly private act in the world that has become too public.


Q2:  In what way books are better than radio and tv and internet ?

Ans: in the following ways books are better than radio , television and internet :

1. Books provide the deepest connection to the moral that makes us human  and a part of a large society .

2. Books are nourishment for our mind as it is a show food over to fast food like ,tv and internet – blogs , text messages , etc

3. It is a fact that those who read more are better prepared to face the world that those who do not read

4. We can read a book whenever we have free time 


Q3: It’s a slow food in a world given over to fast food “ explain .

Ans: It’s a slow food in a world given over to Fast Food “, This maxim tells us that books are slow food in a world as book reading  time taking process like slow food that is  traditional way of having meals which is being replaced with fast food, means e-books or blogs etc.


Q4: Why should people be given more opportunity to read books? 

Ans: People Should be given more opportunities to read books as books are bridges between the real world and the world described upon the pages .it means that through a book we enter in  another world and travel at large . we identify ourselves with the characters we meet and learn about the love , nature and fear or flatter . The books can help us comprehend our faults and inspirations. Through reading books,  people can improve their language skills.


Q5: Which Book Has Inspired You the Most ?Why ?

Ans : The books which has inspired me is “ Rich Dad Poor Dad ( RDPD)” . This book has inspired me because:

(i)     it tells me that the most rich people don’t work for money, in fact  they work for their desire and passion 

(ii)   We should not have greed in ourselves rather we should be grateful

(iii)   It also tells us that we are guaranteed to be successful if we listen to our parent’s advice


UNIT: 07

FAITHFULNESS

Q1. What case did the young men bring to Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A.)?

Ans:The case that the young men brought to Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A.), the Caliph of that time was against a villager who had killed their father. It happened when the men’s father accidentally killed the villager’s beloved camel. They demanded justice by punishing the murderer for his crime. The villager confessed to his crime. So, there was no need of witness and he was sentenced to death.


Q2. Why did the old man hurl a stone at the camel?

Ans:The old man who was later killed by the owner of the same camel hurled a stone at the camel with all his might because the camel nipped a few leaves of the hanging branch of a tree that belonged to the old man. The stone caught the camel on the side of the head. It reeled and fell down dead. As the camel was very dear to its owner, he could not control his anger.So he took the same stone and hurled it at the old man’s head with all his strength and the old man also died.


Q3. Why did the villager ask Hazrat Umar Farooq(R.A.) to delay the execution?

Ans: The villager asked Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A.) to delay the execution because his father at his death, left some gold for the villager’s young brother who was too young to be told about the place where he hid it. He had buried the gold in the earth in a field and no one knew the place. If his brother, on account of his death did not get his due share, he would be called to account on the Day of Judgement for being dishonest. That was the reason the villager asked the Caliph to be kind and grant him three days.


Q4. On what condition was the criminal allowed to leave?

Ans: The condition on which the criminal was allowed to leave for three days of execution was to choose anyone who can stand as surety. In addition, he will suffer death if the villager failed to return. This was the moment when the villager looked at the people present in the count and pointed at Hazrat Abuzar Ghaffari (R.A.) for his surety.


Q5. Why were Sahaba (R.A.) worried?

Ans: Sahaba (R.A.)were worried for Hazrat Abuzar Ghaffari (R.A.)’s fate. They became more anxious for the safety of Hazrat Abuzar Ghaffari (R.A.) when the time was passing and villager had not returned. Their eyes were filled with tears because they knew very well that if the villager did not return, Hazrat Abuzar Ghaffari (R.A.) would have to suffer death in place of the villager. Some requested the accusers to accept blood money but the accusers refused saying,” our demand is life for life”.


Q6. Why did the accusers forgive the villager?

Ans: The accusers forgave the villager for his honesty and faithfulness as he returned back on time after three days delay for execution. Above all, he was ready to be sentenced to death on his crime. He could have been dishonest and let the gentleman die who was standing as his surety. This shows that he was faithful and determined to come back to suffer his death. This act of his melted the hearts of the accusers and they forgave him.
